Belly Fats Increase Cancer Risk

As we all know that this fact is shown by the doctors that obesity can lead the person to cancer. But how belly fats lead to cancer this article will show you that picture of facts and reasons. Because knowing the reason is very important to save ourselves from such a dangerous disease.

The new Michigan State University study shows new details which show that a certain type of protein released from fat in the body which can cause a noncancerous cell turn into a cancerous one. And their study was funded federally because this is for the betterment of the human health. And this study also shows another fact and bad news for the people with abdominal fat. This research found that lower layer of the tummy fat when they compared it with the fats just under the skin, they found that the tummy fats encourage this protein more than any other fats of the body and in the result of this tumor growth started.

This study is published in the “Oncogene” journal and “National Institute of Health” funded it.

Assistant professor of pharmacology and toxicology Mr. Jamie Bernard, the lead author said, “While there have been several advances in treating cancer and improving the quality of life of patients, the number of new cases continues to surge. It’s important to understand the cause so we can do a better job at reducing the number of cancer cases using dietary modifications or therapeutic interventions.”

The researchers said that the obese population is more than one third. They also elaborated that obesity leads to many types of cancers which include colon, breast, uterine, prostate, and kidney. But the author Bernard said that it is not must that we just link the obesity with the risk of cancer.

She said. “Our study suggests that body mass index, or BMI, may not be the best indicator. It’s abdominal obesity, and even more specifically, levels of a protein called fibroblast growth factor-2 that may be a better indicator of the risk of cells becoming cancerous.”

Belly fats have two layers. The upper or top layer is known as subcutaneous fat and this layer lies right under the skin. And the lower layer or the layer under it is called visceral fat. And about this under layer, she said that in her study she found it harmful.
