Helmut Kohl Died on 16 June

The former German Chancellor died at the age of 87 on 16th June 17, 2017. He was the man who directed his country and Europe through unification.

He served as German Chancellor from 1982 to 1998 and presided over the end of the Cold War. He is the longest serving Chancellor of his country Germany. He is also called the “father of reunification”.

He was the politician for most of his adult life and he was the Chancellor of the West Germany from 1982 to 1990 and he served as Chancellor of reunified Germany from the year 1990 to 1998.

He was the leader of the Christian Democratic Union Party, and he has the honor of the long-lasting time period of 16 years after the Otto Von Bismarck.

When the party announced his death, they said on Twitter, “We are in sorrow”.

He was born in the year 1930 to Catholic parents and he joined the Hitler Youth in the year 1940 just at the age of ten.

He is the man who dedicated whole his life for the rebuilding of Germany. When he was the Chancellor of the Germany he made sure that his country was at the heart of all the European Union. He has the close relationship with the French president Francoise Mitterand.

He got married twice and he has two sons from his first wife named, Walter and Peter, his first wife committed suicide in the year 2001, and he got married again in the year 2008.

He died in Ludwigshafen, Germany, the Rhine port city. This is the city where he born. Tributes are given to him by the other political allies.
