Schwall Leaves Tesla to Join Waymo

The officials stated that Tesla Executive, Matthew Schwall had joined Alphabet Inc’s self-driving unit, Waymo. Matthew left the Tesla’s hand when the US National Transpiration Safety Board is investigating crashes involving electric vehicles. Matthew was the electric carmaker’s main technical contact with US safety investigators.

At Waymo, Matthew Schwall will be responsible to handle car safety issues and he joined the firm from last Monday. On Wednesday, the National Transportation Safety Board would investigate a Tesla accident in Florida, however, two teenagers killed in that accident and some injured.

Both, Tesla and Waymo did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment.

At Tesla, Matthew Schwall was responsible for the performance and safety of the vehicles already in the field to strategically guide engineering changes where he reported to the CTO and serve as Tesla’s primary technical contact with safety regulatory agencies such as NHTSA.

Apart from this, the automaker has moved closer to setting up its first overseas car plant by registering a company in Shanghai. Tesla’s Hong Kong division is identified as the sole owner of the new company. Even the automaker also in talks for Tesla Model 3 production line closing issue. The sources stated that the production shutdown had a positive effect on the pace of the Model 3 line. Tesla said in the statement that the next scheduled shutdown for the Model 3 is scheduled for the May 26-May 27.
