IBM Unveils Next-Generation Power Systems Servers for AI System


New York-based tech giant, IBM has recently launched its next-generation Power Systems Servers named ‘POWER9 processor’ that will work for artificial intelligence systems that require heavy computing capability. IBM’s new systems are capable of improving the training times of deep learning frameworks by nearly 4x allowing an enterprise to build more accurate AI applications faster than ever before.

Director at IBM India, Viswanath Ramaswamy said, “IT infrastructure needs to be re-designed for the AI era, which lets companies analyze data in milliseconds and make decisions driven by data.”

Additionally, the company said that the system was specially designed to drive demonstrable performance improvements across AI frameworks such as Caffe, Chainer, TensorFlow as well as accelerated databases such as Kinetica. Moreover, while focusing on the AI, it can perform it can do a lot of tasks with greater efficiency.

Ramaswamy added, “The P9 architecture aims to transform computing across every industry and profession, turning client data into faster insights where inferences can be drawn quicker and faster to market.”

The tech giant launched their AI-powered enterprise marketing solution in India to allow customers to host their marketing data on local IBM cloud data center that offers customers scalability, proximity as well as this will help them meet regulatory requirements.
